Yoga
Classes
In English
Everything we do here is in English. Classes, workshops, you name it. It does not change by teacher or by week, so you always know what you are walking into. We use Sanskrit for postures and concepts, because the names carry meaning.
What we wanted was somewhere people could come together, practise, build friendships whoever they are and wherever they landed from. English is the best way we know how to do that. It belongs to nobody here in particular, which means nobody in the room is a guest in it.
About half the people who practise here are Hungarian and about half arrived from somewhere else, and they are in the same room, which in this city is unfortunately rarer than it ought to be.
We are slowing building a lovely, diverse yoga community in Budapest and we think this is a good thing. We hope you do to.

Three kinds of people, mostly.
People who have moved to Budapest to live or work. People passing through for a few days who want a proper practice rather than a hotel gym. And Hungarians who would rather learn in English and be part of an international community.
-
No, not at all and most probably less than you'd think.
The vocabulary of a yoga class is small and it repeats every week. A handful of instructions, a handful of posture names. Teachers demonstrate as much as they describe.
-
Yes, and plenty do. Book a single class in advance, bring nothing, arrive ten minutes early.
-
No. Booking is required. It keeps numbers balanced and guarantees you a spot.
-
Just yourself. Mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are all here. However, you can bring your own mat if you prefer. No issues.
